Just Play and back at Starfish Gourmet

It was hotter than last year, but after the weeklong deluge of rain we experienced thanks to Tropical Storm Otto, we were just happy for clear skies at this year's Just Play event at the Winston Wells ball field in Cruz Bay. Everyone had a really great time at the fun day dedicated to Love City's kids, and we are incredibly grateful to have been included. We cooked up all kinds of grub to keep the kids (and grownups!) energized, like pasta, chicken, sausage, eggplant and garlic bread.

Just Play was also fun for us because we got to introduce our new spice rub, Captain Mat's Java Booty Rub. We sent everyone home with samples in the goody bags they picked up at the event, and soon, it'll be on the shelves at Starfish Gourmet and Wines. The rub is a blend of coffee, smoked salt and chile, and it creates a nice and deep rich, smoky flavor. Keep your eyes open for it next time you're visiting Starfish's gourmet store. And speaking of Starfish...

We're back! We have returned to making lunches at the gourmet store five days a week. The kitchen buildout we'd been hoping for isn't going to happen for a while, so in the meantime we'll continue to cook up creative and delicious reasonably priced entrees using the very foods that are sold at Starfish at our tiny little counter space.
