 Massive Wedding Reception - Villa Rotunda

So you think you’re lucky? 7/7/07 was the busiest wedding day in 100 years. Lucky for us it was yet another couple of close friends who understood how to have a good time.
By far the largest event we have done, Christy (Punkinhead) and Todd’s (of Woody’s fame) wedding reception was quite a spectacle. She wanted lots of ‘drinking food’ and was expecting ‘maybe another 50 people’ on top of her first estimate of 100-125 guests. It quickly became evident that nearly everyone on their guest list not only said that they were coming, but also that they told two friends about it who then told two friends, and THEY told two friends, and so on, and so on…which I should have expected because they are two of the nicest people on the planet.
We did lots of comfort food and unbelievably had leftovers. That seems to happen at most of our events, but being a chubby kid myself, I’d rather overshoot than have someone go hungry.
The owners of Rotunda have since banned large parties, but they insist that it had nothing to do with us and everything to do with the inordinate amount of people there. We have done several moderately sized groups there over the past couple of years and they have gone without a hitch.
