Weeklong Birthday Celebration - Breakfast Buffets, Picnic Lunches, Eight Course Tasting Menu Dinner & Bar - Presidio del Mar - 1/9/10 - 10 GuestsChristine and Jeff came to St. John with three other couples ready to let loose and celebrate Jeff's 50th birthday, and we helped them do it in style.
We were with them for nearly every meal during their weeklong stay, providing them with breakfast buffets, picnic lunches they took with them to the beach, and plated, coursed out dinners complete with wait staff. We even provided them with a dedicated bartender during a few nights of their stay. Over the course of the week, we learned each guest's food preferences and accommodated those into each meal. They did go out to eat at a restaurant one evening, and subsequently canceled pending restaurant reservations in favor of staying in and eating with us. Christine and Jeff and their friends are well-traveled foodies, so their decision to have us at every meal definitely made us blush a little. Presidio is undoubtedly a gorgeous house, and we've worked enough events there to know the kitchen almost as well as we know our own. So, we can understand Christine and Jeff's desire to hang at the villa for meals. You don't have to drive anywhere, and you've got all your meals taken care of. It's a nice thing! We had an average of three to four staff on hand for each meal, and on the last night, we just blew them away with an eight course tasting menu served up by five staff members. Christine and Jeff hoping to come back soon with their kids, and we can't wait to cook for them again.
